How Our Puppies Are Raised

Please read the following so you will get a better understanding about how I plan a litter and how my puppies are raised.

All of my breeding dogs must have all of the following before they can be bred: first and most important is the correct temperament, which makes a Labrador Retriever the wonderful dog that it is; next is OFA and eye clearences. When planning a litter, I research pedigrees so that the sire and dam will compliment each others attributes to create a good looking litter of puppies. All stud dogs must have the same clearences as my girls. This will help insure a healthy litter of puppies.

I am self employed and my office is in my home. All puppies are born in my spare bedroom and I am always present during the birth. Puppies are handled every day from the day they are born until the day they leave to go to their new homes. They are well socialized to all household noises and situations. I even have a house cat to socialize puppies.

At about 3 days old puppies have their dew claws removed. Before going to their new homes they will have been wormed several times, get 2 series of shots and they are vet checked. All have a Home Again Microchip implanted. My puppies are raised on Pro Plan Lamb and Rice premium food.

All prospective parents are welcome to visit the 4th or 5th week of the puppies life, depending on scheduling. All puppies are sold on an AKC limited registration with the intent they will be someone's loving pet. When you pick up your puppy you will also receive an extensive puppy packet which includes: health record, registration papers, pedigree of puppy, the AKC Labrador Retriever standard, and most importantly information on puppy care, feeding and training. Puppies can leave at eight weeks of age.

I am always available to answer any questions or concerns you may have. The hallmark of a good breeder is to be available for puppy buyers for the life of the dog.
